Hill Hook Local Nature Reserve’s ‘Replacement Boardwalk Project’ wins the £5,000 top vote prize in local Tesco Stores!

The Friends of Hill Hook Nature Reserve are delighted to announce that the ‘Replacement Boardwalk Project’ received the highest number of votes from Tesco shoppers in the region in January 2017, resulting in us bagging a £5,000 cash boost for our local nature reserve!

This means that we can go ahead with our plans to build a redesigned and improved long boardwalk in the nature reserve. The new boardwalk is expected to be constructed during June 2017.

Many thanks to all of you who voted for our Project. We are also very grateful to Tesco shoppers for their votes across North and East Birmingham and neighbouring areas, and to Groundwork and Tesco themselves for running the ‘Bags of Help’ initiative.

NB:- Please note that an area of the Nature Reserve (between the Sandhurst Road and Balmoral Road entrances and the Millpond) will be temporarily closed off to public access when the construction of the Boardwalk is taking place. Further updates will be posted on the noticeboard when available.
